Little Araniko: Spring Art Camp Vol. 18 - Registration Open.

We are excited to announce the opening of registration for the 18th volume of the Little Araniko: Sprig Art Camp 2023, a special bi-annual art program for children aged between 5 to 15 initiated by Artudio since 2010. This camp provides a platform for children to unleash their creativity and explore their imagination through various art forms. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with renowned modern/contemporary artists, designers and authors of Nepal, who will guide them through diverse process and let them experiment various materials and help them blend their creative imaginations to reality. The camp is designed to enhance their observational and imaginary skills and provide a safe and meaningful learning space for children to grow mentally and physically. Join us for an unforgettable artistic experience and let your child explore their full creative potential!
Registration Details:

Registration Deadline: 8th April, 2023

Date: 9th – 18th April, 2023

Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Venue: Artudio, Chhauni Hospital Road, Swoyambhu-15, Kathmandu

Age Group: 5-15 years

Registration Fee: NPR 8,000/- (including all materials)

Scholarship: “Get a 10% scholarship if you have participated in any art programs offered by Artudio before.”

Kailash K Shrestha | Artist & Curator

Kailash K Shrestha is a Kathmandu-based visual artist who uses a wide range of visual languages & processes to create both personal and relatable works critiquing the socio-political realities of Nepal. Shrestha founded Artudio, a center for contemporary arts to advance art practices, initiatives, and visual arts education amongst grassroots communities, public spaces, and larger audiences. He established the Pran Community arts center in his home village of Gairimudi in the wake of the devastating 2015 earthquakes that affected the locality heavily. Shrestha is the first Nepali artist to receive the Australian Himalayan Foundation’s Art Award and is regularly involved with national and international events/exhibitions.

Kiran Shrestha | Visual Artist

Kiran Shrestha was born and raised in Dolakha, Gairimudi. From a young age, he had a passion for art and despite not having access to formal instruction in his rural village, he would copy pictures from books and take part in school art competitions. After entering Kathmandu for further studies, Kiran had the opportunity to visit Fine Art College, which inspired him to join the BFA at Lalitkala Campus to further advance his art career. Kiran believes that without the ability to actualize an idea or concept, art would not exist, and his work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas that he has about himself and the world around him. He does not limit himself to one medium, style, or concept, and each of his pieces is both an extension of the past and a preview of the future.

Krisha Tamrakar | Author & Illustrator

Krisha Tamrakar is graphic designer, illustrator and author born in 1995 in Nepal. She is fascinated by world of storytelling and illustration. Her storybooks are her personal expressions and experience that portray cultural, social and emotional aspect of life. which are fantasy based, interactive and participatory. She has created books such as Yomari, I Wish I Could Fly, Lanchha hai Lanchha and Inside.

Suchin Shrestha was born in Sirutar, Bhaktapur. His art is inspired by the human figure and its relationship with the environment. He often uses bold colors and brushstrokes to capture the mood and emotion of his subjects. His artworks are characterized by their strong sense of movement and energy, often depicting everyday scenes and activities. He has been recognized for his ability to capture the details of his subjects while maintaining a sense of realism and abstraction.
