Artudio Artists Residency Program 2023

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the 2023 Artudio Artist Residency program 2023. This program will allow two talented creatives, Kiran Shrestha and Suchin Shrestha, to spend two-three months in our space and community. During their residency, they will receive studio space, basic financial assistance, and mentorship, all of which will provide them with the opportunity to expand their artistry, cultivate professional connections, and broaden their career prospects as an artist.

Kiran Shrestha was born and raised in Dolakha, Gairimudi. From a young age, he had a passion for art and despite not having access to formal instruction in his rural village, he would copy pictures from books and take part in school art competitions. After entering Kathmandu for further studies, Kiran had the opportunity to visit Fine Art College, which inspired him to join the BFA at Lalitkala Campus to further advance his art career. Kiran believes that without the ability to actualize an idea or concept, art would not exist, and his work is a constant search for the best way to interpret the ideas that he has about himself and the world around him. He does not limit himself to one medium, style, or concept, and each of his pieces is both an extension of the past and a preview of the future.

Suchin Shrestha was born in Sirutar, Bhaktapur. His art is inspired by the human figure and its relationship with the environment. He often uses bold colors and brushstrokes to capture the mood and emotion of his subjects. His artworks are characterized by their strong sense of movement and energy, often depicting everyday scenes and activities. He has been recognized for his ability to capture the details of his subjects while maintaining a sense of realism and abstraction.
