Artudio is proud to present Inner Landscapes, an exhibition featuring works by two international artists Chou Meng Yeh from Taiwan and Gerda Liudvinaviciute from Lithuania. This exhibition marks the culmination of their creative journey during the Artudio International Artists Residency (AIAR) program for the month of Oct-Nov 2024.

Through Inner Landscapes, the artists delve into the exploration of personal narratives, emotions, and the subtle interplay between internal and external worlds. Their works challenge conventional perspectives, offering an immersive experience that invites introspection and connection.

About the Artists:

Chou Meng Yeh (Taiwan): Meng Yeh Chou’s artistic journey began after graduating from the Department of Anthropology at National Taiwan University, where she cultivated a deep understanding of cultural narratives and human experiences. Driven by a passion for exploring artistic expression, she continued her next journey by studying in France at the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes. She completed her master’s degree at the École des Beaux-Arts de Nantes and Université Paris 8. Since 2004, she has returned to Taiwan and has been working as a full-time artist ever since. She has continuously held solo exhibitions and participated in various group exhibitions, accumulating experience from both international and domestic artist residencies and workshops.

Gerda Liudvinaviciute (Lithuania): Gerda is a Lithuanian artist whose work pushes the boundaries of human and non-human forms, inviting us to rethink the essence of existence. With an impressive background in product design, psychology, and health studies, Gerda’s interdisciplinary approach enriches her artistic research. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Design at Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she’s deepening her exploration of human nature and embodiment.

Gerda’s unique perspective delves into the concept of “wandering” through the enigmatic role of the vagus nerve, which she evocatively describes as “a beast-like creature that controls us from within.” Her rituals, centered on our physical beings, prompt us to reconsider who we are. Are our thoughts truly our own? Or are we guided by the vast network of non-human life forms within us, upon which we depend?

This exhibition is a celebration of diversity and cultural exchange, bringing together global perspectives to enrich the Nepali art scene.

Join us for the opening ceremony and discover the fascinating worlds created by these remarkable international artists.
