Venue: Artudio — Patan Wing, Nakabahil, Lalitpur

Artudio is delighted to present Sublimation, a solo exhibition by our Artudio International Artist Residency artist, Anastasiia Koroleva from Russia. This exhibition marks the culmination of her month-long immersion in Nepal’s cultural, visual, and emotional landscapes.

About the Exhibition: Sublimation

In Sublimation, Anastasiia explores the invisible yet deeply felt “frequency” of Nepal — a living rhythm shaped by its people, colors, rituals, daily gestures, and the profound coexistence of harmony and chaos. What began as an encounter with an unfamiliar environment transformed into a meditative process of sensing, absorbing, and reinterpreting the essence of place.

Her artistic journey was guided by a central idea:
Transformation. Cycles. Rebirth.
An echo of Trimurti — creation, preservation, and transformation.

Working primarily with canvas and color, Anastasiia adopted a daily practice: observing the world around her, experiencing its textures and energies, and translating those impressions onto canvas at the end of each day. The works in Sublimation become a visual diary of adaptation — a record of how perception shifts, how color breathes, and how environment becomes internal.

The Artist’s Perspective

Anastasiia’s immersion revealed subtle layers of Nepal:

  • The freedom within tradition, where structure and spontaneity coexist.
  • The harmonious chaos of clustered houses, narrow alleys, and rhythmic human movement.
  • The trust and calmness embedded in everyday life.
  • The ritualistic vitality of color — the pigments of gods, festivals, offerings, and devotion.
  • The primal openness of existence, where actions are intentional and deeply interconnected.

Eagles circling above Kathmandu, the density of lived spaces, the palette of rituals, and the soundscapes of daily life all became recurring motifs in her visual language. Each canvas reflects both the outer environment and the inner transformation it provoked.

A Journey Through Color and Perception

Having familiarity with Asia, Anastasiia navigated a balance between what felt known and what demanded new attention. Some elements of life remained subtle and unnoticed, while others stood out as vivid, energetic marks — flashes of color, movement, or emotion.
This selective perception shaped the layered compositions presented in Sublimation.

We Invite You to Experience This Transformation

Sublimation is not only a display of artworks — it is an intimate record of cultural encounter, sensory immersion, and artistic evolution. The exhibition invites viewers to experience Nepal through the artist’s lens while reflecting on their own relationship with change, environment, and perception.

We warmly welcome you all to join us for the exhibition opening, engage with the work, and celebrate Anastasiia’s creative journey that she explored Artudio’s International Artists Residency period on Nov, 2025.
