Kailash K Shrestha to Speak at KALĀ South Asia and TAKE on Art Panel on Carriers of Creative Force in Colombo

Kailash K Shrestha, artist and Founder–Co-Director of Artudio, has been invited to participate as a panelist in Carriers of Creative Force, a public conversation presented as part of Shared Ground: South Asia in Conversation. The event is organized by KALĀ South Asia in collaboration with TAKE on Art, and will take place on 18 January 2025 at 3:30 PM at Paradise Road, Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Carriers of Creative Force brings together voices from textiles, collecting, curation, and public art to examine how material heritage, memory, and place shape contemporary creative practices in South Asia. The panel explores objects as vessels of cultural knowledge and considers how creativity moves between makers, communities, and shared spaces.

The conversation will be moderated by Pujan Gandhi, curator and arts professional working across institutional and public-facing practices.

Panelists include Vibha Galhotra, whose work addresses ecology, environment, and the politics of land and labour; Mayank Mansingh Kaul, a specialist in Indian textiles and craft histories; Kailash K. Shrestha, exploring heritage and community-based knowledge through artistic and curatorial practice; Indira Kithsiri, foregrounding material culture and diasporic histories; and Firi Rahman, engaged with contemporary practice and cultural platforms.

Together, the panel reflects on objects, makers, and the shared spaces through which culture is activated and carried forward.
