Artudio Welcomes Estonian Textile Designer and Researcher Liisi Tamm as Resident Artist | Feb–Mar 2026

Artudio is pleased to welcome Liisi Tamm as its Resident Artist for February–March 2026. A textile designer and researcher from Estonia, Tamm’s practice is rooted in an in-depth exploration of wool as a material with expansive sensory, conceptual, and ecological possibilities. Her work is guided by a strong commitment to sustainability, advancing experimental and practice-led methodologies that critically address the environmental impact of textile production.

Tamm is affiliated with Pallas University of Applied Sciences and is currently a doctoral candidate in a knowledge-transfer program at the Estonian Academy of Arts. Her research is structured around three case studies focused on wool, investigating how direct, tactile engagement with material informs designers’ attitudes and reshapes their emotional and sensory relationships with finished textile works.

During her residency at Artudio, Liisi Tamm will continue this inquiry through material-based experimentation, close engagement with process, and knowledge exchange within the context of sustainable textile practices. Her presence at Artudio contributes to an ongoing dialogue around material consciousness, research-led making, and responsible approaches to contemporary textile design.
