The weekly art workshop ArtSaturday took place at the premises of Artudio, in Swoyambhu, on Saturday.

Mentored by artists Kailash K Shrestha and Krisha Tamrakar, the workshop saw about a dozen art enthusiasts and practitioners, of all age groups and with varying degrees of expertise, engage in art-making and group interactions.

Started back in 2016, the workshop, according to artist and founder at Artudio Kailash K Shrestha, was launched to provide a space for artists and enthusiasts to hone their skills and engage in creative work and interact with likeminded people.

The workshop is mentored by Shrestha and Krisha Tamrakar.

“One exists and one harbours ideas inside his head. That itself should be a basis for one to create a work of art using his ideas. During workshops, we don’t encourage comparisons. We focus on how to provide an outlet for the idea lurking inside one’s mind,” said Shrestha, “We aim to assist participants’ critical thinking through arts.” Besides art workshops, Artudio also conducts street art programmes, and other workshops on different mediums of visual arts.

ArtSaturday takes place every Saturday from 8-10 am.
