Bal Kala Sangrahalaya – International

Officially our online museum was established in 2011 but the concept had already been developed back in 2008 by visual artist Kailash K Shrestha and has been collecting artworks ever since.

The idea is to create a virtual museum of artworks created by kids (1-16 years old), acknowledge their work, appreciate it and share it with the world. We want to show how innocent, beautiful and unique each and every child is, how every child sees the world differently, the way they observe and interpret the happenings around them and imagine their own world. Children have a very powerful imagination and we want them to help them grow through visual art without killing their power of imagination. The world needs to know art is a really powerful tool or a platform for kids to express themselves, their thoughts, emotions and true feelings

The idea is to create a different and a new perspective to look at the children, their visual expressions, their learning process and also towards the education system that they have been going through. Our team have been doing various campaigns and programs like Art Camps, and Art Heal programs during the earthquake as well for the virtual archiving of the artworks, for documentation of those artworks created by our little artists.

Nothing is impossible in this world you just need to have a will to do what you want to do. and for further more to extend this project I decided to collaborate with the people of the country I now have came for abroad studies.
When i first came to United States, it was hard for me to accept things that I am all alone working for myself but there was always a voice inside in me that asked me to keep trying to do things that I always had will for. Why not contribute what i can if i can?.. so i just headed for what i believe was true and what was needed and necessary.
I am just a freshmen in “Northwest Missouri State University” I didn’t know any resources that were helpful, but there were so many people to lead. I met my art appreciation professor during her office hours and told her about the possibilities of so many things. She was glad to help me and lead me to the way where I was able to work with the “Horrace mann Laboratory School”. Never in my life have I ever felt such happiness representing my country to the kids of a foreign country and made me realize even more on how beautiful and amazing our country is. When I asked them to express themselves to whatever and however they feel. The result were so amazing, that made my heart melt. How can I forget the hugs they gave me as their consolation at the end of the class. Some of them even made an art work as a gift and a message to the Nepalese people.
Thanks to Professor Martha Breckenridge, LeDonna McIntosh, and Northwest Missouri State University for the wonderful opportunity.
Special thanks to the kids of “Horacce Mann Laboratory School”  we value your collaboration for the initiation of being a medium of communication through Art between the two countries.
