Kailash K Shrestha, 29 years old, contemporary visual artist based in Kathmandu. Kailash is a 1st graduate of Kathmandu University and also the initiator of Artudio, A Centre for Visual Art. He is the First Recipient of the Prestigious Young Artist Award from The Australian Himalayan Foundation in 2009. He has participated in several national and international workshops and residencies along with two solo exhibitions and many national and international group exhibitions including Dhaka Biennale. He is the first initiator of street art project in Kathmandu and around Nepal through Artudio. His idea behind street art is to bridge art to the community with socio political concepts and creating every space as an open art gallery. He is also a lecturer at Kathmandu University, School of Art, Centre for Art and Design.

Healing Through Art, a post earthquake trauma healing initiative that he started in Kathmandu in April 2015 has pushed him to establish A Community Art Centre in Gairimudi, Dolakha. Gairimudi is Kailash’s birthplace and is continuously working to support his community. Kailash curated many exhibitions and some of them include UNHCR and IOM’s, Marking the 100,000 Resettlement of Bhutanese Refugees and co-curated Yantra 4.0 Art.Tech.Science exhibition.

Kailash K Shrestha (b. 1985) is a multifaceted contemporary artist based in Kathmandu born in Gairimudi village, Dolakha and received his BFA from Kathmandu University and MFA from Tribhuwan University. He is the founder of Artudio, A Centre for Visual Arts based in Kathmandu. He is the First Recipient of
