THE WHOLENESS an abstract art exhibition by Eminent Nepali Artist Puran Khadka inaugurated by Ragini Upadhyaya, Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) at Park Gallery on August 2, 2015.
Puran Khadka is an abstract Nepali painter in a true sense. His concept as well as technique both is abstract. Some of his contemporaries also paint in abstract technique; however, subject wise they paint human figure or landscapes inclining towards the socio-cultural aspect of Nepal. In this context Khadka’s subject itself is abstract, which he aptly entitles ‘The Wholeness’, which also is the title of this coming exhibition. A legend of an artist who has been painting over three decades believes that in order to understand the intricacies of life, one has to go through and beyond the intellect and understand the no mind state of being. There lies an absolute experience of life and the existence in its purest grandeur.
Puran Khadka was born in 13th May 1956 A.D. to Kaman Singh Khadka and Indrasara Devi Khadka in Ganjra V.D.C. – 4, Achham, Nepal. He graduated in Fine Arts from J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, India. He has showcased six solo painting exhibitions and participated in various national and international art exhibitions.
