Little Araniko: Winter Art Camp Vol. 19 - Registration Open.

We are thrilled to announce the commencement of registrations for the 19th edition of the Little Araniko: Winter Art Camp, a treasured bi-annual program initiated by Artudio since 2010. Tailored for children aged 3 to 14, this camp offers a one-of-a-kind artistic expedition that transcends traditional boundaries. Join us as we embark on a creative journey that nurtures imagination, exploration, and the boundless potential of every young artist.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Unleash your child’s imagination and creativity as they engage with renowned modern/contemporary artists, designers, and authors of Nepal. The camp offers a diverse range of art forms, guiding participants through various creative processes, experimenting with materials, and bringing their imaginative ideas to life. This immersive experience is designed to enhance observational and imaginary skills, providing a safe and meaningful experimental learning space for psychological, spiritual and physical growth. 

Program Details:

Dates: January 3rd – January 12th, 2024

Age Groups and Timings:
– 3-7 Years: 8 AM – 10 AM
– 8-14 Years: 11 AM – 2 PM

Venue: Artudio, Chhauni Hospital Road, Swoyambhu-15, Kathmandu

Registration Deadline: January 2nd, 2024
Registration Fee: NPR 8,000/- (including all art materials)

Special Offer:
Avail a 10% scholarship if your child has participated in any previous art programs offered by Artudio.

For admission, please bring two passport-size photos on the first day of the camp.

About the Mentors

Kailash K Shrestha | Artist & Curator

Kailash K Shrestha is a Kathmandu-based visual artist who uses a wide range of visual languages & processes to create both personal and relatable works critiquing the socio-political realities of Nepal. Shrestha founded Artudio, a center for contemporary arts to advance art practices, initiatives, and visual arts education amongst grassroots communities, public spaces, and larger audiences. He established the Pran Community arts center in his home village of Gairimudi in the wake of the devastating 2015 earthquakes that affected the locality heavily. Shrestha is the first Nepali artist to receive the Australian Himalayan Foundation’s Art Award and is regularly involved with national and international events/exhibitions.

Krisha Tamrakar | Author & Illustrator

Krisha Tamrakar is a Kathmandu-based artist, graphic designer, illustrator and author born in 2052 B.S. Ever since she was a little girl, she has loved to create pictures, which ultimately led her to join Art and Design School in Kathmandu. After her BFA degree in Graphic communication, she was naturally drawn towards the fascinating world of illustration and storytelling. Along with creating designs for notable clients to elevate their company profile with her contemporary design works, she also creates her own picture books. Influenced from her surroundings and emotions, Krisha likes to work around stories that are easily relatable, interactive and connect different people and communities. “The end of my story is just the beginning of the reader’s story,” she shares. A few examples of the books she has illustrated include Araaya’s Fables written by Nirvana Chaudhary, Nyaku Baja ra Gunla written by Rownika Shrestha (published by Baakhan Nyanewaa), Ek Bitte written by Krishna Raj Sarbahari (published online on Let’s Read, published by Asia foundation), Aadi ko Khali Dimag written by Krishnadip Sigdel (published by Shangrilla), Sushmita and Romit to the dentist, written by Anita Lenaerts (published by Kathalaya). Krisha is a Director of Artudio, a center for contemporary visual arts, where she has been actively involved in various curatorial art & education programs.
